What is IPL?
At Ohana Aesthetics and Wellness, IPL is a technology designed to treat skin discoloration, wrinkles, and other cosmetic issues using light to stimulate and heal cells. Unlike laser therapy, which uses a narrow range of light wavelengths to target specific skin conditions, IPL uses a broad spectrum of light wavelengths to improve multiple aspects of skin health simultaneously. An IPL photofacial is a noninvasive treatment that can lead to a healthier appearance, enhanced tone, and decreased areas of hyperpigmentation. Our team employs Harmony XL PRO technology from Alma Lasers to carry out IPL treatments. Let us offer you a consultation to see if this treatment can help you achieve your skin care goals.
"Great holistic chiropractic care. NAETS and other alternative therapies are offered also. If you don’t believe in energy work, then don’t do it. But the service is excellent, the office is clean and inviting, and the overall feeling is friendly and helpful. They’ve helped me a great deal with whiplash and arthritis in my back."- K.P. / Yelp / Oct 05, 2016
"The work Dr. Joe has done for me has made a significant difference for the better in my life. He has helped me get on my path of healing in multiple ways. I will be forever grateful."- N.S. / Google / Aug 21, 2015
What are the possible side effects of IPL?
Because IPL uses intense light to treat the skin, side effects can be similar to the results of a sunburn. You may experience some redness and swelling, and sometimes even blisters. These side effects are typically mild and should fade in a few days. IPL uses a focused range of light wavelengths to eliminate UV exposure during the treatment, but because your skin will be sensitive, we recommend using sunscreen after the procedure to help avoid skin damage.
How do I prepare for IPL?
Patients about to undergo an IPL treatment are usually asked to avoid sun exposure and self-tanners for at least 2 – 4 weeks before their procedure. You might need to discontinue the use of certain medications and topical creams, like Retin-A, several days before treatment, and you should avoid taking blood thinners, like ibuprofen or aspirin.
How many IPL sessions will I need?
Improvements can become apparent after just one session, but a full series of IPL photorejuvenation is recommended to produce longer-lasting aesthetic outcomes that are natural in appearance. The specific number will be decided between you and our team during your consultation, but you can expect as many as 8 – 10 sessions for the best results.
How much does IPL cost?
Every patient's case is unique so the cost of IPL treatments will depend on your personal condition. During your initial visit, we can estimate your treatment pricing and determine how many sessions are needed to maximize your results. Ohana Aesthetics and Wellness also provides a variety of payment options to help you achieve your desired solution.
